Raising the profile and status of Paralegals through professional development and training

AH Paralegal Training was founded in 1996 by Amanda Hamilton LLB (Hons) who graduated in Law in 1982.

From 1983 to 1989 Amanda worked as a Paralegal in a small International Law firm based in London's West End. In 1989 she left the legal profession to set up a property consultancy and continued to work within that field until 1996.

Working as a Paralegal, it became apparent that there was little professional training to help new Paralegals understand their role fully. AH Paralegal Training focuses on the practical skills needed to be a Paralegal, giving it's students the confidence to take on freelance roles.

Amanda has dedicated her career to raising the professional standards of Paralegals. She is CEO of The National Association of Licensed Paralegals - NALP, the UK's longest running paralegal membership body which offers nationally certified qualifications for Paralegals.

Alongside these roles, Amanda is also a Patron of ILSPA - The Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs, having been the Senior tutor for that organisation for 20 years.

We work with the industries top membership boards and training centres to provide our graduates with the resources and connections they need to further their career.

NALP encourages, promotes and develops the role and practice of the Paralegal and represents the best interests of its Members by lobbying on their behalf.

NALP Training is a provider of legal courses encompassing the academic and practical for the legal services sector. We are accredited by NALP which is Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual.

Having been feeling very down about not being able to secure a position and not really knowing what path to take following the award of the LLB (Hons) I decided to do the Paralegal Practical Skills course.

Thanks to your course I now feel confident and equipped to go out there and make a start as a freelance paralegal.

Many thanks Amanda the course was great fun with a mixture of role play and written work. I would recommend and have recommended this course to my graduate friends.
